Third Street and Parade

At this location, the geographic center of the neighborhood, CIVITAS suggested the creation of an outdoor room linking the four corners of the intersection by relocation or adding downward facing lights to form a square. These lights can function as supports for temporary streamers, flags and holiday lights. At the NW corner CIVITAS proposed additional shelter and a phone booth near an existing bus stop. Cafe seating, added at the NE corner in front of the market, will attract diners. At the SE corner, circular seating placed around the tree will provide another local resting spot. At the SW corner, a proposed marker referencing the Eastern European heritage of the neighborhood could also provide seating at it's base.
