DEMOLISHED
This is a 2006 image of EMI (Erie Malleable Iron) Gunnite before it was demolished by Accuride. Kevin Cacchione, a former core-room worker at EMI, noted that the facility had been updated in the late 80’s and included “a state-of-the-art automated pouring system” where parts were made for cars, heavy equipment and Mack trucks. “All it needed was a (new) floor and a roof,” he said while enjoying a coffee on the corner of 5th and State on Memorial Day, 2007.
